Education in Motion (EiM) and HKU have entered into an exclusive partnership agreement that offers unique opportunities for students across the EiM family of schools that include the Dulwich College international schools in China, Singapore and Seoul, Dehong bilingual schools, and Sherfield School in the UK. This collaboration underscores EiM's unwavering commitment to providing exceptional educational experiences and resources, in alignment with our guiding principle that 'Students Come First'. This partnership also brings together HKU's expertise in education and innovation, exemplifying the pursuit of academic excellence and dedication to the worldwide outreach of both institutions, ensuring our communities gain access to unparalleled resources and opportunities.

HKU Academy for the Talented

The HKU Academy for the Talented is the University’s flagship international academic programme designed for high-achieving pre-university students. Directly managed by the HKU Admissions Office, the Academy inspires its members to discover their full potential by immersing them in undergraduate-level courses in Hong Kong and abroad. Members of this programme can cultivate lasting relationships while preparing themselves for university life and beyond.

Inspiring future leaders - The Academy is where talented students delve into their academic passions to become the leaders of tomorrow. It connects gifted students with faculty members, industry partners, and peers worldwide, creating a dynamic community of academic excellence and cultural exchange.

This highly selective, nomination-based programme grants members privileged access to HKU's resources and exclusive benefits on enrichment programmes. Traditionally, top schools worldwide secure only limited spots annually in the Academy. However, thanks to our partnership, EiM schools—spanning Dulwich College International, Dehong, Sherfield, and more—will now have 50 reserved seats, determined through an internal selection process.

Looking at 2023-2024, the Academy enrolled over 1,500 students from 26 countries or regions, offering more than 25 programmes. Approximately 72% of participants are local, while 28% are international students. With this partnership, EiM students will have an unprecedented opportunity to join this prestigious network.

HKU - Sherfield Medicine Hub
(Global Health & Biomedical Sciences Programme)

EiM has co-created an exclusive Global Health and Biomedical Sciences programme with HKU, set to launch at Sherfield School this August. This hub programme offers students an exceptional opportunity to engage with HKU and become part of its prestigious community. Through interdisciplinary learning experiences, students will develop essential skills for leadership and success in competitive fields. The programme will better prepare participants to pursue further studies in healthcare.

This course, delivered by HKU professors with pastoral and activity coordination led by Sherfield's Ali Robertson, will offer students a unique chance to engage deeply with top-tier healthcare education. Notably, one of the programme's professors also oversees undergraduate admissions for HKU's esteemed Health Sciences programmes.

Participation in the Academy grants students access to preferential pricing for this programme at EiM/Sherfield. Additionally, seven fully funded scholarships are available through HKU for EiM schools:
 

Eligible scholars must already be part of the HKU Academy for the Talented, and selection will occur through an internal nomination process within EiM schools.

Deeper collaboration between EiM's family of schools and HKU

Beyond the direct student benefits, this partnership fosters deeper collaboration between EiM and HKU. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims to establish new channels for resource-sharing and academic enrichment and identify joint branding opportunities to further elevate EiM's and its schools' position globally.

HKU is consistently ranked among the world's top universities and remains one of the most popular destinations for EiM graduates. Since 2009, approximately 100 EiM students have matriculated at HKU. 

This agreement is poised to make a significant impact across multiple areas. It will enhance the experiences of both students and staff across all EiM schools. Additionally, it strengthens EiM's global brand by aligning our schools with one of the world's most prestigious universities. This reputable partnership has been secured not through paid affiliation, but through the strength of our academic reputation and shared vision with HKU.
