Residential programmes give students the opportunity to step beyond their everyday school environment and learn through experience.
Our signature residential programme, Ignite, brings together academic learning, outdoor adventure, wellbeing, cultural exchange and community.
Built on the belief that some of the most powerful learning happens through experience, Ignite takes students beyond the familiar and into new environments, shared experiences and challenges that encourage them to grow.
By living and learning alongside others, stepping outside their comfort zones and taking on greater responsibility, students develop confidence, independence and perspective, building skills and qualities that extend well beyond their time on the programme.
Students leave Ignite with greater:
Independence
Learning to manage routines, responsibilities and decisions away from their usual environment.
Confidence
Discovering what they are capable of through new experiences and challenges.
Resilience
Learning to adapt, persevere and respond positively when things do not go as planned.
Connection
Building deeper relationships with peers, their community and the natural world.
Self-awareness
Understanding more about their own strengths, habits, wellbeing and ways of learning.
Global perspective
Forming friendships and shared experiences across Education in Motion’s international family of schools.
Hosted at Hochalpines Institut Ftan (HIF) in the Swiss Alps, Ignite: Switzerland gives students the opportunity to live and learn in an extraordinary Swiss alpine environment
